Since 2012, the Night Owls Kids’ Film Fest has delivered a cherished summer experience for adults and children alike, and brought the Sydney community together on Darling Quarter’s Village Green.
From 4–20 January 2019, two-dozen family films were screened under the stars in the middle of Sydney’s CBD, giving families a free and unique night out.
The 8th annual Night Owls Kids’ Film Fest returned to Darling Quarter with a nightly program that included high-quality and well-known kids’ entertainment to kick off each evening, followed by short films from Little Big Shots, then a full-length family feature, plus after-hours films for the adults on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights.
Among the featured movies were the universal favourite The Greatest Showman, irreverent comedy Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie, thought-provoking drama Wonder, the adventurous A Wrinkle In Time, plus epics for the adults such as Black Panther, Pitch Perfect 3, and the award-winning Australian period Western, Sweet Country, which was chosen to close the ever-popular festival.
