National Reconciliation Week 2022

Project Info

Emerging Indigenous artist, Alex Birdfox, painted an intricate black and white dot artwork live in the lobby of Citigroup Centre, 2 Park Street in Sydney, as part of National Reconciliation Week 2022.

‘Be brave. Make change’ was this year’s National Reconciliation Week theme. It challenged all Australians— individuals, families, communities, organisations, and government—to tackle the unfinished business of reconciliation for the benefit of all Australians.

During a three-day live art session, up-and-coming Wiradjuri artist Alex Birdfox – self-taught since lockdown 2020 – engaged with the public as he created a painting later auctioned to raise funds for Gunawirra (a community-led organisation that works with First Nations communities to help them reach their full potential).

This live art event was curated and produced by Wiltshire+Dimas and presented by Citigroup Centre.
